Programs
6 programs
Harm reduction/opioid overdose prevention - programming that provides supportive services and resources to people who use substances, including a naloxone training and distribution, a syringe service program, and additional supplies for self-care and harm reduction. Our program also provides information and referral services to recovery centers and treatment options with a focus on reducing deaths from opioid overdoses. Through this program we distributed hundreds of supply kits that include naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and other harm reduction supplies as well as other hiv prevention and safer sex supplies.
Willma's fund - a housing program that provides short-term rental and security deposit assistance to lgbtq+ adults in dane county, to prevent and alleviate homelessness. In 2024, we provided over $60,000 in grants through this program to 91 individuals. The people served by willma's fund are low-income. The majority of clients for this program are people of color, and around one-third self-identify as transgender.
Trans advocacyto create a better quality of life for transgender individuals through counseling, advocacy efforts, education, and other support services.
Senior advocacyto create a better quality of life for lgbtq older adults by building partnerships with senior service providers and providing intergenerational social opportunities.
Information and referralreply to inquiries from members of the lgbtq community, make needed referrals to human service and other agencies, and ensure that members of the lgbtq community are connected to available resources.
Other programsoutreach provides peer counseling, facilitation of support groups on matters of interest to the lgbtq community, and space for public meetings and activities. In addition, outreach produces an annual directory of services of interest to lgbtq community members, maintains a website that connects lgbtq community members to a variety of resources, and engages in advocacy on public policy issues of concern to the lgbtq community.
