Empowerment Programs: Overtures social support model empowers Haitians of all ages at the individual, family and community levels toward independence and self-sufficiency. The model encourages community parternerships and supports locally-driven services that enable families to meet the basic needs of their children: education, nutrition, healthcare, empowerment programs and infrasturcture. During 2024: 200+ children received crisis care services; 75 foster families trained; 146 children reunified with biological or foster family; 339 family assessments completed by social workers.
Infrastructure: Overtures infrastructure initiatives include the development of physical frameworks that support communities, such as community centers and safe housing. They also include the development of social networks that strengthen families for independence or self-sufficiency. During 2024: 87 local jobs were contracted fro construction projects; 142 salaries were funded for Haitian workers; new homes and a dome community center were finalized; and the use of the Les Cayes campus was expanded for child protection programs in partnership with governing agencies such as IBESR and BPM.
