Land stewardship - orlt stewards and manages land and conservation easements to ensure that conservation values are protected. Each conservation easement property is visited annually by project staff and a report is subsequently prepared to document the condition of the property at the time of the visit. Project staff also make an effort to meet with the landowners of conservation easement properties whenever possible. For properties owned outright, orlt visits them on a regular schedule to ensure that there are no incursions and to perform ecological management activities. For the largest single landholder, alford forest, orlt makes grants to a related non- profit entity that manages the forest.
