Promoting greater use of the Ozark Trail by the public through attending public events and providing information, operating a website offering maps and trip planning information and supporting events taking place on the trail to increase awareness in various trail user communities. OTA volunteers contributed 1,400 hours toward this program.
Development of new sections of the Ozark Trail. In 2024 OTAs volunteer planners worked on developing strategies for identifying possible routes new sections of trails that fulfill the goal of a long continuous trail through the Ozarks in Missouri. Also studies for linkages connecting the Ozark Trail to other existing recreational resources and nearby communities are under study.
