Mission
The Pacific Islander Health Board (PIHB) seeks to cultivate resilience within our communities to achieve health equity through culturally safe and community-driven solutions, traditions, advocacy, and policy.
Programs
3 programs
HEALTH ENROLLMENT - Our health enrollment navigators conduct comprehensive outreach and health insurance education to COFA community members, which provides information and guidance on Washingtons Apple Health enrollment. They collaborate with organizations within each respective COFA community and host quarterly workshops with key partners that provide services and resources for COFA families and organizations.
PRENATAL AND MATERNAL HEALTH - The Baby and You prenatal supportive education program explicitly addresses the needs of Pacific Islander families and mothers in King County at risk of infant mortality. By focusing on providing culturally-aligned prenatal services, health education, and access to resources, the program aims to bridge the gap and improve outcomes for our community.
Other programs include cultural navigation and outreach to connect community members with health education and resources, and an environmental justice program focused on increasing access to sports and other physical activities with the aim to reduce health disparities in our community.
