PMSA staff participated in many workgroups and conferences on behalf of our members in the maritime industry. These included working with the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, Oakland, Seattle and Tacoma on environmental issues.
PMSA coordinated education meetings for association members and other stakeholders on issues of state regulation of main engines, port of Los Angeles, Long Beach, Oakland and Seattle on strategies for emission reductions, state assessments of public health risks, and development of emission reduction plans.
PMSA represented shipping companies in oversight of fiscal, operational and safety issues of ship pilots and their associations with their respective state pilotage commissions in California and Washington.
