Membership services:pncwa focuses on the issue of workforce sustainability by supporting a new generation of trained professionals (in a field with high retirement rates) through workshops and scholarships. In 2024, $14,000 was given as scholarships to 9 university students to help each cover their costs in their educational pursuits regarding water quality. Pncwa's wave program is an initiative that strives to identify promising students and young professionals from underrepresented groups who are interested in careers in the water industry by supporting attendance and housing for 12 at the pncwa2024 conference in boise, id. Pncwa also supports members in supporting relevant national events, such as the water environment federation young professionals summit, wefmax conferences, or national water week. Eight members were supported in these events in 2024.

Public education:pncwa firmly believes in providing public education, beyond its membership. The group provides volunteers for the stockholm junior water prize high school science fair program and presents a $100 award to each state winner in our three-state region that participates; there were four recipients in 2024. Pncwa also proudly runs an adopt-a-school grant program to fund 4th-12th grade science-based wastewater/stormwater curriculums/projects to enable schools to provide presentations from water professionals or tours of treatment facilities. In 2024, pncwa funded 11 schools for a total of $5,646.
