Paiute Atv Trail Committee

Helmet program- this is a grant that the committee applies for every 24 months. The funds from the grant are utilized to purchase and provide ohv helmets for children. Certificates have been printed and provided to fs employees, state employees and various law enforcement employees. If there are children riding without a helmet,the authorized person gives the child or parent a certificate that can be redeemed for a free helmet at a few local stores. The committee has worked with the helmet providers to purchase the helmets for about 100 each andreimburses the store with grant funds for helmet certificates redeemed. Helmets from this program are also given away at the gooseberry outdoor education program that all third graders in the county participate in. One class they take is ohv safety where a handful of helmets are given away.

Picnic tables there were approximately 40 tables that were donated to the committee to use to place on the trailsystem. These tables were sandblasted, cleaned and repaired when needed in preparation for placement. Thiswork was contracted out and paid for with trail committee funds. There were also approvals obtained from the forest service for the specific placement of the tables. These will be placed during the 2025 year.

Parker mountain grant - we secured a grant to sign the parker mountain. This is a long and on-going project that is now over 7 years in the making. Our motto is "all good things take time". While we won't finish this grant and the actual on the ground signing until 2024, we did spend 5,909 in purchase of signing material and equipment. We put a new sign at the max reid trail head for a combined cost of material and volunteer labor of 375.
