Mission

Provide meaningful services and activities to promote independence, physical and mental health, safety social engagment, education, and cultural enrichment of its older residents in NW Washington, DC.

Events - There were 28 social events in 2024 with 804 attendees and 40 informational programs and author talks with 427 attendees. Book club, foreign policy discussion groups, planner groups, mindful knitting groups and eye-to-eye support groups totaled 472 participants. Wellness activities including fitness, yoga, pickleball, a walking group and golf outings had 1,286 participants. Most events are in person.

Expenses: $44K

Community events - Activities open to the community at large. Activities include distribution of free masks and covid tests and vaccination clinics (including transportation if needed). Updates on vaccinations and CDC and DC goverment guidelines are included in the Villages weekly newsletters. Participation in the Community 4th of July parade and DC Villages kick-off. Sponsored a community holiday sing-a-long, and art show and the 10th annual House Tour. These events involved 722 participants.
