Matanuska Valley Colonist Digital Collection. The Palmer Museum of History Art is finalizing our project on developing a digital compendium about the Matanuska Valley Colonists. It is a detail description of the original colonist from Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota that shares where they came from, what they did here, who their families are and the legacies they left behind.
Matanuska Valley Historical Photo Project. Palmer Museum of History and Art continues its ongoing effort to build a curated website to present and explain local historic photos. The Palmer Museum has a collection of over 10,000 photographs, all digitized as high resolution scans. Since 2017, we have been connecting this wealth of history to our community in the Matanuska Valley Historical Photo Project database. Over 500 volunteer hours were donated towards this project in 2024.
