Mission

Our mission is to work with landowners and communities to conserve the lands we love, now and forever, and to enrich connections to the natural world.

Programs

2 programs

Land Protection Palouse Land Trust partners with willing landowners to permanently protect open spaces that sustain our region's natural and cultural heritageranging from family farms and working forests to critical wildlife corridors and rare Palouse Prairie ecosystems. We use voluntary conservation agreements (conservation easements) as our primary tool and work collaboratively with nonprofit, business, and government partners to achieve lasting outcomes that benefit both the land and its stewards. Since 1995, we have been a trusted, knowledgeable partner across a nine-county region in north-central Idaho and southeastern Washington, advancing community-driven conservation solutions.

Community Engagement and Outreach Palouse Land Trust is dedicated to deepening public connection to the land and cultivating a shared conservation ethic. Through guided walks, volunteer events, educational programs, and collaborative partnerships, we create meaningful opportunities for people to experience the landscapes they help protect. We work intentionally to expand access to nature, amplify local voices, and inspire lasting support for land conservation by engaging a broad cross-section of our community.
