Mission
The mission of the texas chapter paralyzed veterans of america is to serve veterans with spinal cord injury/disease, and individuals with disabilities, by providing programs that build a better future for them so they may be active in the community and live life to its fullest.
Programs

Sports and recreation achievements: we were able to send 7 members, 5 caregivers and 2 coaches to winter sports clinic in snowmass, colorado for a week of snow skiing and other winter sports. We were able to send 17 members, 13 caregivers and 3 coaches to the national veterans wheelchair games in new orleans for a week of competition. We had 3 teams compete in the national sporting clays championship and had 3 members who medaled at boccia nationals. We provided 15 veterans with sports funding for fishing, shooting, archery, air guns, boccia and rafting activities, provided members with numerous different fishing trips and bird and deer hunting opportunities, and assisted u of h with their adaptive sports program.
Communication achievements: maintaining programs to report activities to membership, other chapters, the national office, and national officers.
Legislative advocacy achievements: working with all disabled citizens on issues that affect their independence, addressing federal and state legislatures to improve quality of life for the disabled community. Liaison achievements: we supported ms, als safari club, bsb chamber of commerce and shoot to walk fundraisers and advocated for civil rights, accessible air travel and veteran benefits in austinand washington d.c. Research and education achievements: supported education and research for a cure for spinal cord injury/disease.
