Paraquad champions equity and independence for people with disabilities through services, partnerships, education, and advocacy.
Programs

Independent living adult program provided services to 63 participants. The peer program offered support to 61 participants. Information and referral services were given to 3,745 individuals. 50 youth and their families received services through monthly youth groups, summer camps, education advocacy, and transition services. 21 participants used the telephone access program, 190 participants received equipment through the durable medical equipment reuse program, and 49 participants received assistive technology demonstrations.in march, paraquad launched a home modifications program to carry out minor home modifications and ramp construction to ensure people with disabilities in our community can remain safely in their homes.
The stephen a. Orthwein center facilitates lifelong fitness for individuals with disabilities and older adults who benefit from exercising in a supportive, adaptive environment. Our team of adaptive exercise specialists served 389 participants.
Employment services - paraquad partners with participants to develop an individualized plan based on their employment goals. From entry level to professional positions, jobseekers have access to paraquad's network of employers who are actively seeking qualified candidates with disabilities. As part of our employment services, 15 high school students participated in our summer work experience program, 89 participants received continuing education services, 42 participants received placement assistance, and 10 participants received job coaching services. Work incentives planning and assistance had 311 referrals and 139 received benefits counseling. 13 students graduated from the bloom culinary training program, and 49 ticket holders received ticket-to-work services.
The public policy and advocacy team works to develop and implement systems changes that promote independent living and eliminate or amend systemic barriers for people with disabilities. Paraquad is also committed to developing leadership in the disability community by recruiting, training, and mobilizing advocates.
