Volunteer/Community: PauseAI US cultivates a community of readers, listeners, social media followers, a Discord community, and a volunteer community who carry out PauseAI-related education and advocacy. Maintaining this community is a significant project, involving attention to all parts of the volunteer pipeline-- outreach, recruitment, organizing, monitoring, and providing ongoing support as volunteers implement and assist with our programming.

Lobbying: PauseAI US engages in direct lobbying, with an employee (Felix De Simone) located in DC and taking in-person meetings with staffers and federal elected officials to ask them to support AI regulation, Pause, and international cooperation for AI Safety. We also grassroots lobby, calling for individuals to ask for meaningful AI regulation from their representatives at all levels of government, through Action Workshops where we guide them through the steps and by releasing written and video material through out Discord community and social media.
