Peace for dc is committed to ending gun violence in dc & building a peaceful city for all through evidencebased practices, community violence intervention, healing trauma, transforming the lives of our most vulnerable, systems change, & coordinated strategies.

Programs

Dc peace academy: this is a classroom-based training program for dc's violence intervention professionals. It includes approximately 120 hours of classroom learning on topics such as conflict resolution, restorative justice, how to use a tourniquet, how to use narcan, cognitive behavioral theory, how to be a life coach, healthy masculinity and femininity, working with families, etc. Students meet with life coaches and licensed therapists to further both their professional and personal development.

Cognitive behavioral interventions - cognitive behavioral interventions (cbis) have been proven as the gold standard for healing trauma and an essential element to reduce gun violence in cities across the country. Peace for dc teaches roca's rewire cognitive behavioral theory (cbt) to address trauma, ptsd, and hypervigilance of people impacted by gun violence.
