To educate physicians and healthcare professionals involved in the care of children and adults with congenital and structural heart disease in the latest advances in the field.

Membership dues. Pics society. The mission of the pics society is to promote the highest quality care globally for infants, children and adults with congenital heart disease through minimally invasive techniques and to further knowledge and skills of all involved, fostering research, education and advocacy. Among the many goals of the society are promoting early career development; advocating for patients; engaging nurses, technologists & other medical professionals; expanding educational offerings; and establishing guidelines for quality in the field.

Publications: pics regularly publishes scholarly studies used by colleges, universities, hospitals, and the general public. In 2023, pics released a global clinical guideline for chd treatment, published in multiple journals and shared with media and professionals. A second major guideline defining patient eligibility for minimally invasive chd treatmentis scheduled for publication in 2026. Since 2022, pics has partnered with springer publishing to designate pediatric cardiology journal as its official journal. Through this publication pics disseminates vital research & clinical practice information to the professional community and trade press, and via those means to the lay media and the public. Since 2021, pics has partnered with congenital cardiology today newsletter to distribute monthly educational articles and committee recommendations to the media and public.
