Pee Dee Healthy Start Inc

To promote healthy marriage and responsible fatherhood for at risk families. The organization provides healthy marriage and relationship education, social care and job and career advancement services to adult individuals ages 18 and older in five rural communities. The organization served 2,318 clients in the year ended 9/30/24.

The purpose of pee dee healthy start workforce development and training program is to empower individuals 16 years of age and older to become productive members of society by preparing them to achieve their full potential work readiness and basic skills training, career exploration, and paid work experiences. The community will be strengthened by filling needed vacancies in high demand industry areas. The program will deliver holistic services addressing the social determinants of health with an individualized plan of employment. Assistance with barriers to employment, such as transportation will be provided. 120 participants were provided services from 10/1/23 through 9/30/24.

Benefits bundle the program is called alumni peer navigators, designed to deliver a bundled set of critical resources to hs participants and provide social, informational, and peer support. These are hs alumni that have recently completed the hs program and have experience navigating benefits enrollment and accessing key community resources and support. The program is implemented to help families of young children become more aware of existing programs and improve access to support for eligible people.
