Mission
The Peninsula Bridge Education Foundation (PBEF) supports teaching, learning, and playing the game of duplicate bridge for all age groups. PBEF helps ensure the continued availability of first-rate bridge learning and playing facilities for the 820 members of the American Contract Bridge League Unit 503, other San Francisco Bay Area Units' 4,900 members, as well as the general public. PBEF funds a bridge lecture series, bridge promotions to attract players to play face-to-face bridge, bridge seminars, and a bridge facility which contains a library with several hundred books. Silicon Valley Youth Bridge, a part of PBEF, offers after-school bridge programs, bridge mentoring events, and other opportunities for youth to learn the game of bridge. These included 46 Casual Fridays in 2024 (avg 16 students), 7 Pizza Party bridge tournaments (avg 16 students), and Summer Camp bridge classes (30 students). In 2024, SiVY also sponsored 21 youths to participate in US and global bridge tournaments
