Programs
2 programs
Peninsula school of art's public programs provide accessible art experiences and free exhibitions to persons of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds, from school age children, to aspiring artists, families and underserved communities. These programs are offered to local residents and visitors alike and are designed to encourage long term participation in visual arts. In 2024, we served 5,000 children, families and adults - local and visiting - through free public education programs such as school visits; family art days; guided tours; guenzel galleryprograms and exhibitions.
Designed for artists of all career stages, the artists-in-residence program is an immersive studio experience awarded to six individuals per year. The program prioritizes time and space for its residents to engage fully in their creative practice creating uninterrupted opportunities to experiment and pursue new projects and ideas. Residents receive: a semi-private workspace, access to our printmaking, digital, metals, and ceramics studios, and equipment, a studio visit with a visiting critic, housing for the six-week session, and opportunities to engage with the public about their work and process in an environment that encourages contemplation, experimentation, and exchange of ideas, this program is invested in new modes of thinking and working in visual art.
