To build and support the capacity of local non-profit organizations, municipalities, and individuals to enhance the well-being and sustainability of pennsylvania's historic boroughs, towns, and cities.
Programs

Pennsylvania downtown center collaborates with the department of health on the walkworks program. Using funding from the centers for disease control and prevention under the state physical activity and nutrition program and the preventive health and health services block grant program, walkworks promotes active transportation in pennsylvania communities in order to improve public health. The program provides technical assistance, capacity building, and grant funding to communities for the development of active transportation plans.
