Pa heart and soul: pa heart and soul is a community-led process that works with state-wide partners to support small town residents across the state to plan for their future by discovering what matters most to them. In 2024, pa humnanities partnered with the pa route 6 alliance, the department of conservation and natural resources, community heart & soul, and the department of community and economic development to support four new communities: etna, venango area (oil city, city of franklin, cranberry township), port allegany and mansfield.

Teen library programs: in 2023, teen reading lounge became embedded in pa humanities' broader youth-led humanities initiative. Operating at 17 libraries and 5 out-of-school sites across the state for the 2023-24 program year, youth-led humanities allows teens to take the lead by choosing readings on topics of interest, having honest discussions with their peers, and participating in youth-led community projects. This award-winning program, offered in partnership with the office of commonwealth libraries (ocl), also provides humanities-based training for librarians and youth development professionals.
