Mission
To fully represent pennsylvania psychiatrists in advocating for their profession and their patients, and to assure access to psychiatric services of high quality, through activities in education, shaping of legislation and upholding ethical standards.
Programs
2 programs
District branch (state) and chapter councils and committees meet regularly throughout the year to develop, restructure, and expand policies, procedures, and educational programs. In 2024, the district branch executive committee met monthly, district branch council met quarterly, and chapter councils (6 chapters) each met 6x/year. The district branch held an annual council orientation and annual council strategic planning retreat. District branch and chapter leadership attend both events to review goals and priorities, amend as needed for current climate, and review policies and procedures.
The pennsylvania psychiatrists newsletter is published quarterly and electronically distributed to memebers and posted in the public area of the society website (https://papsych.org). The newsletter is a comprehensive compilation of educational, scientific, and research articles, editorials, council and chapter highlights, apa national updates, and information on upcoming events and programs.
