Affordable housing, tenant assistance, resident services, financial literacy and youth education programs - the resident services and resident education programs provide for low-income senior and families, counseling and after school tutoring program, health screenings, financial literacy programs, homeownership counseling, foreclosure counseling, and emergency financial assistance. These programs are designed to help low-income persons remain housed in safe and affordable housing, and to provide educational opportunities. Pshhc's youth education program has 300 participants and 86 participants in the college club program that awarded 4 scholarships for participants attending colleges. In addition, pshhc supportive housing program assisted 1,242 residents with clinical case management services.

Affordable housing development - pshhc assisted homeowners with construction of 10 affordable self-help homes in nipomo, ca. Pshhc received entitlements and county permit approval for 15 affordable self- help homes in san miguel, ca. Pshhc is awaiting permit approval of 36 affordable homes in greenfield, ca and 49 affordable homes in santa maria. Pshhc was awarded a project in thousand oaks, which will develop 78 affordable, for sale units. Pshhc completed construction of a 40 unit affordable housing project in san luis obispo, ca, and a 50 unit affordable housing project in pismo beach, ca. Pshhc continued construction efforts of a 69 unit affordable housing project in santa paula, ca, a 68 unit affordable housing project in san luis obispo, ca, a 90 unit affordable housing project in oxnard, ca, and a 65 unit affordable farmworker housing rehabilitation project. Pshhc began construction of a 89 unit affordable housing project in buellton, ca, and a 53 unit affordable housing project in grover beach, ca. In addition to the expenditures shown, additional costs of 2,940,205 were capitalized as predevelopment costs for affordable rental housing and self-help ownership projects.
