Mission
We want to be a pillar of support and education for the plumbing and heating/cooling workforce. If you are working towards a career in plumbing, our scholarship program can help you offset your training costs. Even if your employer is paying for your training, we can offer financial support to help you during your training. Aside from that, you will also receive pride and industry recognition for winning our scholarship.
Programs
3 programs
E-learning. The phcc of california educational foundation offers plumbing and hvac/r apprentice elearning courses for apprentices who need a non-traditional method of receiving their apprenticeship-related instruction. This program that is recognized by the u.s. Department of labor, employment & training administration, office of apprenticeship, as a reasonable option for apprentice training. Each course is the equivalent to one year of classroom instruction, and there are 4 courses total. There are two options for enrollment into the program: employer sponsored: employer sponsored enrollment is for potential students who are currently employed by a plumbing or hvac/r contractor. Your employer is responsible for paying your enrollment fees. On-the-job training must be coordinated with a participating employer, and you will receive a federal certificate of completion and be registered with the department of labor with this option.2. Self-sponsored: self-sponsorship is an option for potential students who are looking for an education in plumbing or hvac/r but aren't currently employed by a contractor. Because you are not currently employed by a contractor, on-the-job training must be gained after employment. You will receive a certificate of completion from phcc academy, but will not be registered with the department of labor.during the year, the organization had one student for their e-learning program.
Certification testing. A. Industry certifications: programs designed to certify professionals in specific skills or knowledge areas, providing credentials that demonstrate their expertise to employers and customers.b. Specialized training: courses tailored to specific needs within the industry, such as green technologies, energy efficiency, and advanced hvac systems.c. Journeyman trainingupgrade and refresh skills: programs designed for journeymen who want to update or expand their skills, keeping pace with industry advancements and changes in technology.d. Business management training leadership development: courses and seminars aimed at helping contractors and business owners improve their leadership and management skills.financial management: training on budgeting, financial planning, and managing business finances effectively.
Apprenticeship programs. Four-year apprenticeship program: a structured program combining classroom instruction with on-the-job training. Apprentices learn essential skills in plumbing and hvac, working under the guidance of experienced journeymen.state-certified apprenticeships: these programs meet state requirements and standards, ensuring that apprentices receive a recognized and reputable education.continuing education - workshops and seminars: regularly scheduled events covering a wide range of topics, from new technologies and tools to updated safety regulations and business practices. - online courses: flexible learning options that allow professionals to complete training at their own pace, focusing on areas like code updates, system design, and advanced troubleshooting.during the year, the organization served 102 apprentices.
