To promote and conserve the high standard of practice of sports journalism in the tri-state area around philadelphia (the "philadelphia district"): to sponsor and direct functions in the interest of furthering sports: to aid in the college education of worthy young men and women: to aid other worthy charities: and to place and maintain sports on a high standard in the philadelphia district and in the nation.
