Pine Ridge Association

Backcountry weekend: the pine ridge association hosts a 3 day camping/backpacking event in april for up to 350 cars and 600-800 people. At the event, volunteers provide many interpretive hikes and activities for children and adults. This once a year event allows the public the opportunity to drive into the back country using the pacheco pass entrance to henry coe state park, along kaiser aetna road.

Hunting hollow 5k/10k run/walk: the pra hosts the run in june through the trails in the hunting hollow entrance of henry coe state park. The event draws approximatley 300 runner/walkers. The pra members & volunteers are on hand to facilitate the run, as well as to provide interpretive support for all the participants interested in learning more about henry coe state park.

Tarantula fest: in october when the male tarantulas begin their journey to find a mate, the pra hosts the t-fest event. The event draws approximately 300 to 400 visitors to the park. At the event, volunteers provide interpretive discussions surrounding the tarantulas, interpretive walks and hikes, as well as a series of lectures in the interpretive room at the visitor center.
