Consensus statement published in nature reviews endocrinology in september 2023 on diagnosis and management of prolactin-secreting pituitary adenomas: a pituitary society international consensus statement.

Preceptorship course for fellows-in-training held in february 2024. This course, the sixth since its inception, consisted of two webinars held on february 5 and 7, 2024. The course was attended by approximately 225 fellows-in-training. Fellows were required to submit an interesting pituitary case in order to attend the course. Cases were reviewed by faculty and four-to-six were selected to be presented by the fellows during the case discussion. Faculty recorded presentations on all pituitary pathology were viewed by the fellows prior to the live webinars to allow for more interactive learning.over the last decade, many endocrinology fellowship programs reduced the training requirements from 3 years to 2 years to be eligible for board certification. In parallel, diabetes and obesity incidence and prevalence increased significantly, limiting clinical experiences on other rarer, nevertheless severe and potentially lethal diseases, such as pituitary disorders. Therefore, this course taught by leading international experts, addressed some of these issues by reviewing for trainees advancements in diagnosis and treatment of hypopituitarism, growth hormone deficiency, cushing's syndrome and acromegaly as well as management of pituitary disease in the post-covid era.

Acromegaly & cushing's syndrome: striving for excellence webinar was held november 27, 2023. The mission of this program was to update global acromegaly and cushing's syndrome approaches, thereby allowing clinicians worldwide to improve their patients' quality of life, morbidity and mortality. The structure of the meeting utilized a workshop format with previous communications by virtual meetings and email between speakers and chairs, panelists/steering committee. Invited faculty and speaker participants were international experts in the field of acromegaly and cushing's syndrome from europe, north and south america and australia. During the webinar, these experts discussed "state of the art" issues and updates for gender and age presentation, single and combination regimens in the medical treatment of acromegaly, self-administration of long-acting injectable somatostatin receptor ligands, surgery, and predictors of outcome to medical treatment with the goal of improving patients' outcomes and changes in care delivery. Diagnosis of cushing's syndrome remains complex. Cyclic cushing's seems to be more frequently seen than previously thought. Also, advances in imaging can find more pituitary adenomas, but their role on increased remission post-surgery is not well defined. Novel medications for cushing's syndrome have been developed and approved recently and experts will discuss long term follow-up. Additionally, the pituitary society guideline consensus on diagnosis and management of cushing's disease: a guideline update, will be reviewed and discussed.
