Community Leadership Nonprofit Initiative helps local nonprofits thrive and grow through high quality training and technical assistance. Annual leadership summit brings nationally known experts who provide training in best practices in governance and fundraising for over 200 volunteers who serve on boards of directors of nonprofits in Placer County. Eight total trainings provided over 2,022 hours of free training was provided to nonprofit leaders. The foundation continued its work to educate the public on the need for affordable workforce housing in Placer County and to advocate for policy changes to ensure affordable housing is constructed.
Arts: Grants enhance and sustain a vibrant arts culture in Placer County by increasing the visibility/accessibility of the arts and promoting sustainability of nonprofit arts organizations. Grants from the Susan Cooley-Gilliom Art Program develop and enhance the visual arts through short-term residencies and workshops taught by nationally established and highly-reputable artists who create a range of media.
Youth Development: Grants supporting the needs of at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth in Placer County are awarded. Scholarship funds are awarded to students who are pursuing further education in a vocational, college or university setting.
