The community education and engagement department's mission is to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes by increasing communities' access to medically accurate, culturally relevant sexual and reproductive health education, information, and resources.during july 1, 2023 - june 30, 2024, community education and engagement programs reached 29,837 youth and adults in minnesota, north dakota, and south dakota. Educators facilitated 676 presentations on sexual and reproductive health topics (e.g. Healthy relationships, birth control, sexually transmitted infections, and consent) to 5,449 participants in community- and school-based settings. (continued in schedule o)peer educators were trained to be resources in their communities and subsequently reached 5,282 people through one-on-one and small group conversations. In addition, education staff reached 15,358 people at health fairs and community events.

Public affairs staff in minnesota, north dakota and south dakota engaged volunteers in over 31 outreach, advocacy and engagement events. Through grassroots organizing, we grew our email list by over 4,500 people and our text messaging list by over 6,600 people and collected 300 stories from people about why planned parenthood matters to them. Our ten planned parenthood generation action youth chapters in minnesota ran voter engagement campaigns including conducting non-partisan voter registration and pre-registration for 16- & 17-year olds. Additionally, campuses held educational and interactive events on campus aimed at destigmatizing abortion and other sex education topics. (continued in schedule o)collectively, they hosted 43 events or outreach tables throughout the school year reaching over 1,250 contacts. Public affairs staff and volunteers hosted donation drives and abortion care basket assembly events, making and distributing 500 abortion care baskets to minnesota health centers. Staff in minnesota continuted to engage patients in our mission through the health center advocacy program. Volunteers completed 116 shifts, totaling 232 volunteer hours. We collected over 150 new supporters who were interested in volunteering, sharing their story, or both. In minnesota, public affairs staff worked with over 189 volunteers, engaging them in over 378 volunteer hours. Public affairs participated in pride activities in minneapolis, mn and fargo, grand forks, bismarck, and minot, nd. In north dakota, we continued to organize at college campuses in fargo and grand forks. With the support of our student intern, the chapter at north dakota state university recognizied black maternal health week for the first time ever. Our student group at the university of north dakota assembled over 400 menstrual hygiene kits to be distributed throughout the community. Our public affairs team held 3 different events across the state related to the harm of anti-abortion centers. North dakota staff also partnered with a local book store in opposition of book bans and support for access to medically accurate, relevant books for children and teens. We partnered with numerous organizations for outreach including life cares unite, lgbtq+ summit, red river market and more. South dakota public affairs staff continued organizing at both south dakota state university and university of south dakota to provide incoming and current students with information about planned parenthood's mission and sexual and reproductive health issues broadly. Campuses held a total of 28 events or community outreach tables. They registered their peers to vote and grew the number of students involved in their chapters with roughly 1,000 peer engagements executed.
