Programs
2 programs
Community Health: The Community Health Department's Education and Community Health Worker (CHW) Programs provide medically accurate, age-appropriate, and inclusive sexual reproductive health education and patient navigation services to teens, parents, and adults. Our programs target communities in 17 counties, supporting their overall improved sexual and reproductive health. We promote healthy communities and increase the utilization of our health center services and other organizations' resources. We partner with many community-based organizations and schools to deliver education to a variety of participants, including youth/teens, adults, vulnerable populations, health care providers, and professionals. Our programs provided education to over 3,500 individuals; 50% delivered to youth under 18.
Government Relations and Communications: Provides a broad scope of advocacy efforts to protect access and funding for sexual and reproductive health care and expand reproductive freedom. Our Government Relations activities inform and engage supporters, volunteers, diverse community partners, clients, and staff through sophisticated digital and grassroots advocacy efforts. We work closely with local, state, and federal elected officials and other key decision-makers to protect state and federal policy and funding. We have successfully strengthened our support and impact on reproductive health and have ensured that California is leading the way as one of the only U.S. states to expand access to reproductive health care, all in the face of active opposition efforts.
