Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company, Inc. (Playhouse Creatures) wasincorporated on February 4, 2011 exclusively for the charitable and educationalpurposes of 1) cultivating and developing understanding of and public interest inthe dramatic arts; 2) bringing the dramatic arts to areas that are not adequatelyserved in this respect through charitable community-centered programs; 3)encouraging and cultivating talent in the creation and performance of the dramaticarts; and 4) making donations to and otherwise supporting organizations qualifiedfor exemption from federal income tax under Section 50 1( c) (3) of the InternalRevenue Code.

6) PCTC The Return of Benjamin LayPCTC took the reigns as lead producer bringing from London the critical hit, THE RETURN OF BENJAMIN LAY. Written by Naomi Wallace and Marcus Rediker, the play will be stage at The Sheen Center in NYC, March-May, 2025. Pre-production cost are reflected in the numbers below.
2) PCTC True West - LondonAt the outset of 2024, PCTC continued and expanded its trans-Atlantic collaboration with WELL PLAYED of London. Our production of Sam Shepards TRUE WEST was presented at Questors Theatre in the Ealing neighborhood of London. It was a rousing success, using an American and British cast, and selling out all 10 performances. It was also a benefit to support WELL PLAYEDS mission of supporting mental health awareness and education.
1) Little Creatures Act Out At Risk Youth Theatre ProgramPCTC was honored to continue and expand its ground-breaking free youth theatre program Little Creatures Act Out. Since 2011, PCTC has partnered with Nazareth Housing (on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and now in the Bronx) to provide free access to the theatre arts for over 2000 young people. In 2024, PCTC added two additional weeks of LCAO programming.
3)PCTC Execution of Justice - LondonPCTC was honored to produce and present (with legendary writer, Emily Mann on board!) a London community-based production (using American and British actors) of EXECUTION OF JUSTICE. The production was staged at the Chelsea Theatre in South Kensington. It benefitted the South London LGBTQ+ community And the London LGBTQ+ Centre.
PCTC Via Dolorosa - LondonAfter the smashing success in NYC, PCTC was encouraged to bring Via Dolorosa to a 6 show run in London. As in NYC, the shows were staged in non-traditional setting; in this case, in 6 different houses in Notting Hill. All 6 shows were sold-out, with 20% of the box office going to Intermission Youth Theatre (a London-based program that brings the arts to underprivileged youths.
PCTC Tent CityPCTCs 23-25 Playwright Fellows original play, TENT CITY, was developed through intense workshops and two public readings. The epic piece (with 14 actors) was presented at the Sheen Center and 59E59. Representatives from The Public Theatre and NY Theatre Workshop were in attendance, and the future looks bright for this amazing new play and brilliant young playwright.
5) PCTC Spanish Nuts - LondonPCTC was thrilled to be able to produce one of our Playwright Fellows (Angela J. Davis, 21-23) Original plays, SPANISH NUTS. This comedic contemplation of the rise of fascism in 1930s Spain. Was stage at Questors Theatre in Ealing/London, and was a rousing success.
PCTC Harvey Milk HSSince 2018, PCTC has created and provided an in-class theatre arts workshop at Harvey Milk High School in Manhattan. This public, LGBTQ+-centric high school, uses the theatre arts to engage students and enhance their basic subject driven curriculum. We are looking forward to expanding the program in 25-26.
4) PCTC 2023-2025 Artistic FellowPCTCs 23-25 artistic fellow, Zachary Desmond, developed his original play (TENT CITY) with PCTC. He also began work on a beginners playwrighting workshop with Harvey Milk High School, and acted in two of our Salon Series productions. We are proud to shepherd his work toward greatness and success.
PCTC 2023 Salon Series #2, Skylight SKYLIGHT was PCTCs second play in the twelve play SALON SERIES cycle.
PCTC Salon Series #3, Major BarbaraThis was third third play in PCTCs SALON SERIES cycle
PCTC Show TrialPlayhouse Creatures produced the world premiere staged reading of SHOW TRIAL by Laura Zlatos.. This was developed by 2021 PCTC Artistic Fellow, Laura Zlatos. It was presented at RATTLESTICK THEATRE in June 2022.
