The Tribe is in danger of losing the community's locally spoken language - Indian French. The Tribe partnered with Ecole Pointe-Au-Chien, a local French Immersion school to save its language.
Salt water intrusion is a big concern of the coastally located tribe. Once an area where gardens were a staple for each household, growing fresh vegetables and fruits is now a difficult feat for tribal and community members. The tribe has built a greenhouse and raised gardens on site to grow fresh fruits and vegetables for tribal and community members to enjoy and promote a healthy lifestyle.
