Founded in 1952, Pomeroy is a not-for-profit organization that provides recreational, vocational and educational opportunities for people with disabilities through programs and services that encourage self-expression, promote personal achievement, and lead to greater independence. The organization provides direct care to more than 1000 adults and children with intellectual/developmental disabilities as well as traumatic/acquired brain injuries.PRRC also provides full time residential housing for up to 10 adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in two separate residential homes in San Francisco.PRRC also operates a warm water therapy pool that provides a therapeutic and exercise program for more than 500 senior citizens in the community as well as a water safety and swim lessons for children between six months and twelve years old.
Programs

Children and Teen Program - CDSS programs, after school programs and day camps are Person Centered and designed to give a multi-dimensional experience to each child that will encourage them to grow in five key areas including communication, social skills, self-help, physical skills and education skills. It serves approximately 110 children annually.
Aquatics - The Aquatics Program serves individuals enrolled at the Pomeroy Recreation Rehabilitation Center (PRRC). We offer therapeutic swimming and instructional programs for more than 500 senior citizens in the community as well as water safety and swim lessons for children between six months and twelve years old in our 93-degree indoor therapeutic pool. Staff are certified in lifeguarding, first aid and CPR-FPR.
The Center also offers other programs such as employment and training services, residential home and San Francisco Traumatic Brain Injury Network, among others.
Residential Program/Respite - PRRC provides full time residential housing for up to 10 adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in two separate residential homes in San Francisco.
