Mission

Poughkeepsie farm project's mission is to cultivate local leadership in sustainable farming, food access and education, and to foster an inclusive, welcoming community for everyone.

Programs

1 program

Poughkeepsie farm project operates a community farm to demonstrate, teach, and promote sustainable production and distribution methods, preserve community farmland, and improve access to locally grown, healthy foood - especially for individuals and families with limited access. Through our multifaceted food share and csa program, we provide more than 400 families with weekly sustainably-grown produce for at least 23 weeks each year. This program advances food sovereignty and strengthens community health by ensuring affordable and equitable access to nutritious food. In 2024, over 50,000 pounds of the food grown on the farm was distributed at no cost through donations to local emergency food partners, free produce distributions, and sponsored csa shares staffed and supported by pfp educators.
