Local 3816's primary purpose as a labor organization is to act as the collective bargaining agent for the full time faculty of Prairie State College. Our primary activities for which no grants are received are to: Collect dues from members, Transmit dues to the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT), Negotiate labor contracts between Prairie State College and Local 3816, File and resolve grievances and Conduct meetings to disseminate important information to members.
