To provide patient support and education, raise public awareness, fund (continued on schedule o) research, and improve healthcare practices, reduce illness and death caused by preeclampsia and hypertension disorders of pregnancy.

Healthcare practices. Provide education, resources and training for healthcare professionals. Advocate for innovative practices with healthcare providers, policymakers, and key opinion leaders to improve inpatient and outpatient care, such as providing blood pressure monitors to patients during pregnancy and the postpartum period and training all healthcare providers and first responders to appropriately recognize, diagnose and treat postpartum patients. Train healthcare providers and administrators to integrate patient and family perspectives in safety and quality improvement initiatives at a local, state, and national level. Measure impact of integrating lived experience in healthcare improvement initiatives.

Research. Funds and advocates for research into pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Provides research funding through vision grants, peter joseph pappas research fund, travel grants to scientific meetings, and other research projects. Maintains online patient-led preeclampsia research registry and provides study participant recruitment services. Conduct and publish patient impact and care practice research studies. Ensure patients from all different backgrounds have access to opportunities to participate and actively engage in preeclampsia research. Collaborates with research scientists on various studies and cross-learning opportunities.
