Programs
2 programs
Durant-peterson house and sholes school museums: approximately 4,000 visitors annually. The durant-peterson house and sholes school museum share what life was like for pioneers in the mid-to-late 19th century in illinois. With a focus on the lives of children at the time, costumed docents bring visitors back in time to experience the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of the time. Over 1,500 students visit the museums on school field trips annually.
Beith house: approximately 1,000 visitors annually. The beith house is home to preservation partners, inviting the community to appreciate the shared history of the tri-city communities of batavia, geneva, and st. Charles, illinois. From the beith house, we engage with members of the public, sharing the importance of history with visitors, homeowners, building owners, and more. Visitors learn how to identify, restore, and rehabilitate local historic structures.
