Preserve Shady Rest Commitee

Commission oil paintings of Shady Rest Country Clubs historical moments to be hung in the clubhouse. And, the purchase one book that tells the history of Shady Rest Country Club and John Shippen. He was one of Americas first golf professional who happened to be Black. The book will be kept in the John Shippen Museum room located in the clubhouse.

Promote Shady Rest County Club through public outreach and public programs, such as: attending golf events, donations, and updating its website.

Shady Rest Country Club is now registered with the National Registry of Historical Sites and the New Jersey Registry of Historical Sites The framed paintings are now hanging in the Shady Rest Country Club clubhouse, and the book is in the John Shippen Museum room.

Through new found public awareness of Shady Rest Country Club has received more grants and contributions.
