The collaborative for families and schools is a network for families, schools and community partners supporting local innovation to meet the unique needs of students and families locally. The commonwealth institute for parent leadership is a statewide network where parents deepen their knowledge of education issues and lead a project to support student success. Family friendly certification offered to schools, early care centers, and other organizations encourages partnership with families to support student success and increase family engagement.

The groundswell initiative is a statewide movement helping communities respond to the needs of students and families at the local level. Initiatives include the kentucky community school initiative, community profiles, the groundswell summit and the big bold future report. In 2024, over 1,000 individuals signed up to become groundswell members and supported education by taking action in over 70 communities.
