Mission
The producers guild of america represents over 8,400 producers. It is a non-profit trade organization that represents, protects and promotes the interests of all members of the producing team in film, television and emerging media. The guild invests in its core values that benefit the industry at large. These values are rooted in facilitating employment and health benefits for its members, advocating for sustainable practices in production that minimize human and environmental harm, and ensuring a set culture that advances safety and creates viable pathways into the guild for the next generation of producers, particularly those from populations under-represented in the industry. Year-round it hosts a number of educational, mentoring and professional networking programs, as well as industry events that honor excellence in producing.

The producers guild also hosts the produced by conference, an annual event which consists of panels, sessions, and networking opportunities tailored to the producing industry. In addition, the producers guild holds smaller networking events such as seminars, workshops, master classes, new members events, networking meetings, and employment events. These events bring members together to promote educational and networking opportunities, share ideas and build on relationships within the industry. These events help to protect, educate, and promote the interests of all members of the producing team in film, television and new media. Many of the committee meetings, webinars, master classes, networking events and screenings were held via zoom.
The "produced by" magazine contains editorials and articles about the producing profession. There are feature stories on producers in film, television and new media, as well as diverse pieces on technology, credits, developing trends, new opportunities, professional tips and more.
