The professional beauty association (pba) exists to elevate, unite and serve the beauty industry and the professionals who improve peoples' lives. Pba is a community led non-profit membership organization with members and a board of directors representing licensed professionals, salons, manufacturers, distributors, schools and students.

Membership:at pba, we keep professional beauty professional. Our members are the heart of this industry, and we're here to empower, protect, and invest in their success. Pba provides the resources, connections, and advocacy beauty professionals need to thrive. Through education, community, and policy leadership, we work to strengthen careers, protect the industry, and drive meaningful change. As a nonprofit membership fuels everything we do championing the voices, craft, and future of beauty professionals everywhere. When beauty thrives, we all do. (cont'd on sch. O) member benefits and resources new in 2024:-more preferred resource providers all vetted to support the success of our members. -upgraded member portal packed with more tools to help members navigate their benefits and resources with ease. O) -addition of the membership directory for business and salon/spa members to connect and collaborate with other members.-new healthcare provider with better healthcare options for all members including virtual care with mental health care. Education:we proudly graduated 168 cosmetology/esthetic/barber students from our beacon program in 2024. We also held student-focused education at events across the country including premiere san antonio, premiere columbus and premiere orlando.we hosted 15 online classes and webinars for our members, focused on the business of beauty to help them thrive in the professional beauty industry. Pba visionary members help shape the beauty landscape through extensive leadership, positioning, brand and marketing opportunities, and greater exposure with the largest beauty association.visionary members who joined in 2024:1. Government affairs:pba's government affairs team works to influence local, state, and federal government legislation. Advocating on behalf of our membership, our efforts include education regarding the importance of occupational licensing for the professional beauty industry, business growth, and managing state and federal issues impacting day to day salon operations. Pba's government affairs team also manages advocacy programs that include volunteer outreach efforts within our industry. The 139,407 advocates in our professional beauty advocate (cont'd on sch. O) program have taken 856,068 actions connecting with elected officials at the state and federal level. Pba's government affairs team engages and contracts with outside firms to assist with state and federal direct lobbying. The range of the government affairs team includes conducting research, analyzing legislation, creating a strategic response to legislation, lobbying, building grassroots and organizing volunteers, advocacy campaigns and messaging, education outreach, and utilizing partnerships. Our team is proud to serve on the council of state governments' cosmetology and barbering interstate compact technical assistance group funded by the department of defense (dod). Additionally, our team speaks at public and private events sharing the proponent perspective of occupational licensing and educating on a variety of business-related topics of concern for our members. After analyzing legislation our goal is to explain the potential impact and advocate for the best solution for our members. In 2024, pba hosted an arizona salon success symposium at our corporate headquarters for a full day of learning for local salon leaders to hear about resources & tips from the az state board of barbering & cosmetology, the arizona small business development center network, the irs & three salon owners.
