Yoga with jillian, by lia romeo in this immersive play by lia romeo, yoga teacher jillian plans to take the audience through an amazing, incredible, fantastic, one hour yoga journey. But the past couple years have been tough, am i right? As jillian tries to teach again in our changed world, the shiny, happy yoga teacher attempts to keep the class, and herself, from completely imploding. In 2024, we took this show the edinburgh fringe festival in scotland (a repeat invite after a successful 2023!) where it ran for 27 performances in 28 days in august 2024 at the pleasance courtyard. It featured michole biancosino and was directed by andrew smith.

Parent caregiver playwrights group this programming was to support a playwrights group who are also caregivers as well. The creation of this group is an act of recognition that the particular demands on caregiver writers - especially during an unpredictable and ongoing pandemic - continue to hack away at our creative time in invisible and isolating ways. It is also a show of confidence that an artistic career does not have to be derailed by the demands of caregiving. We supported this group through rental of rehearsal space, stipends for each playwright, and 2 public readings of their new work. We seek to support parent playwrights in the creation and presentation of original work, and are committed to foregrounding diverse points of view from historically underrepresented voices.

The remaining programs in 2024: 1) women in theatre festival 2025 the women in theatre festival seeks to broaden the opportunities for women in the entertainment industry by producing new work by women with more than 50% female representation of all artists involved. This fy24 expense is a first rental payment ($3,650) and security deposit ($1000) for our performance venue for the women in theatre festival 2025 at the gural theatre at a.r.t/new york theatres at 502 west 53rd street, nyc.

2) devising jam: this 5 day laboratory is an opportunity for artists seeking to explore, collaborate, and cross-pollinate on devised work they wish to bring to life. Created and curated by sheila bandyophadhyay, the devising jam was a dynamic workshop that brings together 3 lead artists with a team of up ot 5 additional actor/creators. It resulted in a public showing, free of charge.
