Mission
Encourage and promote the sport of running and race-walking for competition, health and recreation; to support athletes to participate at national/international competitions; to fund raise for various running/walking and community-related organizations that support the sport; to assist in efforts to conserve, enhance and protect the recreational areas where many of these sporting events are conducted.

Support provided to local athletes at non-PPTC athletic events involving international competition.
PPTC Grants Program to provide financial support to educational programs, after-school programs and charities that promote running and fitness primarily in Brooklyn, NY.
Provision of coached running and strength training workouts for PPTC member athletes to improve running performance and to compete in local, national and international athletic competitions.
PPTC Race Assistance Fund to provide financial support to PPTC members to participate in athletic events. (5 grants)
Sponsorship of Runner Safety Awareness Week.
