Mission

To organize support for acute and ongoing needs of immigrants in rockland county, we weave solidarity across boundaries of legal status, country of origin, and secular/religious affiliations toward building a beloved community in which all people can live without fear or anxiety.

Programs

3 programs

Outreach & engagement:this program provides supportive consultation, coaching, and community for individuals in rockland county who, because of their immigration status, are not able to access critical safety nets like unemployment insurance or rent relief in precarious times. Trained staff and volunteers work 1-1 with individuals and families to identify services for which they are eligible, support them in seeking out and obtaining these services, and provide referrals to other agencies where necessary. In particular, we focus these efforts on workers and victims of domestic violence and other crimes.

Expenses: $33K

Every child counts: every child counts program responds to needs and develops leadership among immigrant students and parents who, because of racism and classism, have little power in school decisions. We facilitate a stakeholders alliance, provide training for grassroots leaders, and work in coalition to make tangible improvements in school conditions.

Expenses: $18K

Other programs include: legal clinic free store / community center outreach-excluded workers outreach-health education food sovereignty
