Mission

The public lands alliance (pla) mission is to connect, strengthen and represent the nonprofit partners of america's public lands. Pla is a vibrant network of close to 160 nonprofit organizations that partner with public lands in every u.s. State and territory. The alliance has strengthened the public lands community for more than forty-five years through its national programs and advocacy. Pla works for the day when america's public lands are understood and appreciated, preserved and conserved and enjoyed by all. The most direct way to realize this vision is to ensure that public lands have strong nonprofit partners with the capacity to galvanize private support, catalyze change and take strategic risks.

Pla provides timely, comprehensive input to agency leaders and elected officials on these and related issues from the perspective of nonprofit public lands partners. Pla also engages and educates its nonprofit members on issues critical to their success, inviting them to become better and stronger advocates for public lands and partnerships in their local communities.
