Mission
RACE Cancer Foundation fights cancer through action and prevention. Our running events promote health and wellness in the community, reducing the risk of cancer while raising funds and awareness for organizations dedicated to fighting cancer. Their programs create opportunities to reduce and detect cancer through education, prevention, and screening measures. RACE Cancer's Sunscreen Squad fights skin cancer by bringing free sunscreen dispensers to outdoor events across New England.

RACE Cancer Foundation donated $27,282 to charities in 2024. This year, proceeds from Super Sunday went to directly support two families impacted by a fatal car crash. $10,176 was donated to each of the Kito Jackson Scholarship and Kirstin Tracey. This departure from more mission aligned charities was one off in nature. In addition to those donations, $2,062 went to a recipient of the Matt Fishman Scholarship for high school students impacted by cancer or another medical hardship. $2,006 went to the Cape Wellness Collaborative which provides free-of-charge integrative therapies, nutritious meals and emotional support for anyone in the Cape Cod community facing cancer. $1,000 went to Tommy's Place that owns and operates year-round magical vacation homes for kids fighting cancer. Smaller additional donations were made to various organizations.
In addition to its own events, Race Cancer Foundation's Sunscreen Squad distributed sunscreen at the Boston Calling music festival, and at the start of the Boston Marathon.
