Race Matters Slo County

Texture is a Black-centered multi-use space with a salon that welcomes rotating stylists. Beyond offering hair services Texture is envisioned as an inspiring cultural hub for the organizations programs and events. Most activity in 2023 was spent finding the location and preparing the building and space for use.

Noire SLO is a social initiative aimed at connecting the Black community. 2023 activities included hosting Black Santa a Black-centered social event and supporting the design and opening of Texture.
