Racine Vocational Ministry Inc

In 2024, virtually all of the participants (98%) who enroll in our programs qualify under the hud definition as low income. In 2024, rvm served 69 homeless participants, 36 adult gang participants, 49 youth gang participants, a record 160 prison returnees and 141 in the walk-in program. Those we serve have experienced a greater capacity to reconnect with their families, attain and maintain employment, and stabilize their lives through increased self-sufficiency. They have also gained more positive, pro social modes of cognition. Rvm assisted this population with over $25,000 in supports for driver's license recovery, gas cards, bus passes, work clothes, work tools, cna certificates, forklift licenses, and cdl certifications. Rvm's homeless assistance is done in the context of our local continuum of care.

This program serves some of racine's most challenged population. A number of our walk-in participants are struggling with mental illness, antisocial attitudes, criminal backgrounds, gang involvement, and chronic episodes of unemployment. The majority of our walk-ins have been employed for more than one year. Racine vocational ministry placed 339 people in jobs and education in 2024. Also in 2024, 65 people attained promotions and 80 people earned certificates for programs and job skills in programs like forklift, cna, and aoda and anger management classes. This program is substantially funded by the united way of racine county and the sc johnson fund.
