Mission
The rain alliance enables organizations to improve traceability, effectiveness, and sustainability by simplifying, standardizing, and accelerating the adoption of rain technology through global collaboration and innovation. It is an industry consortium focused on rain technology (a standards-based passive uhf rfid / wireless identification approach) whose members include companies across the value chain (tag manufacturers, readers, system integrators, solution providers, and end users) collaborating to drive adoption, establish standards, and promote best practices. The alliance serves as a central body for advocacy, education, collaboration, market development, and technical standardization.
Programs

Events: the rain alliance holds annual in-person conferences for both members and non-members. In 2024, rain alliance hosted two conferences. The connections summit was hosted in taichung in may of 2024, drawing over 280 attendees 25 speakers, and 14 sponsors. Rain in action was hosted in florence in september of 2024, which drew 220+ attendees, 44 speakers and 14 sponsors. The conferences included expert speakers, networking opportunities, and meetings of rain alliance workgroups focused on the technology and various industry sectors.
Education: in 2024, the alliance published 22 new resources on topic of rain rfid to their website. This includes best practices, guidelines, webinars and presentations. There were also 19 blogs posted, and numerous news articles/member news shared. Rain alliance delivered a robust 2024 webinar/knowledge-series program, drawing on expert speakers and covering a number of topics throughout the year. Across its 2024 series, the alliance had over 1500 registrations, 785 live attendees and strong on-demand viewership (average ~190 views per webinar). The alliance's training program continued to evolve, launching two new courses in 2024 (rain encoding masterclass and rain read-point design), delivering the encoding masterclass in chinese, delivering the first virtual classroom training, and holding a dpp workshop in florence. There were 210 training attendees, with 57 certification awards and a 96% satisfaction rating.
