Outreach:throughout 2024, rvhs engaged more than 2,000 community members through public programs, events, and publications highlighting rainier valley's local history. Events included the annual meeting on the boys in the boat, the hillman city heritage bell unveiling, and participation in the san gennaro festival. Additional programming featured history talks, open houses at the columbia city night market, and regular friday office hours providing public access to archives and exhibits. Rvhs also produced newsletters, distributed 500 walking tour maps, and various brochures that shared research and stories about the valley's people and places.
Website:in 2024, rvhs implemented a comprehensive website redesign to make its digital collections, articles, and events more accessible to the public. The project enhanced navigation, improved search functions for archival materials, and expanded online visibility of community stories and exhibits. The total investment of $2880 supported design, hosting, and accessibility upgrades, ensuring that rainier valley's rich history remains available to researchers, educators, and residents both locally and beyond.
